How To Grocery Shop Zero Waste ?

For the month of February, I have challenged you to take part in at least one Zero Waste alternative solution every day. Living a Zero Waste lifstyle is definitaly not easy, it takes time and commitmnet, however, there are some simple steps that you can take in to ensuring that your habbits change easily.

Today we will be discussing some Zero Waste Grocery Shopping Alternatives!

  1. Purchase a Reusable cloth or tweed bag to store your groceries in from the store to your home. Not only is having a rusable bag far better for the environment it is also a bag that does not burst as easily as plastic! And if you are worried about getting it stained or dirty, it cloth so you can alwasy wash it. 
  2. Take a stop to your local farmers market or store! Support a locall buisness and purchase organic options that are far better for your health than procssed foods.
  3. Take a jar/conatiner! On your way to the farmers market be sure to pack a reusable mason jar of kit that you can fill with whatever food items you may need. Whether it's a cup of 2 of nuts or a couple scoops of icecream. 
  4. Make your own. Whether you purchase a bag of seeds to plant your own home garden with organic and fresh prodcuce or you make a loaf of bread instead of buying prepackaged bread. Not only will you be putting in your own healthy ingredients, but you will also be contributing to a huge decrease in trash. 
  5. If you must purchase pre package items be consious of the materials and the amount you purchase.
